Adecco’s ‘Praise Challenge’

Posted by: in Things To Watch

Our October trend report, “Health & Happiness: Hand in Hand,” explores the rising notion that a healthier person is a happier person and, in turn, a healthier person is a happier person. A brand-new campaign for Swedish staffing firm Adecco, from JWT Stockholm/SWE Advertising, is based around the idea that happier employees are healthier too. The insight was that a lack of praise and flattery in the workplace is one of the biggest contributors to poor health, sick leave and overall dissatisfaction among employees. In an effort that aims to humanize Adecco, the agency has launched “The Praise Challenge,” a 10-day program activated through an app download from Google Play or the Apple App Store. Both employees and clients are challenged to complete one exercise a day that involves encouragement, positive feedback, appreciation or acknowledgment. Find a rough English translation (via Google) here.  —Alexandra Stieber
