Track the reaction to the election on Twitter with these Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots.
With the American presidential election nigh, a whimsical project from Casa, a JWT digital and innovation hub in Brazil, tracks Twitter chatter about the candidates in real time and translates the conversation into an Obama-Romney boxing match. A blue Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robot punches his red counterpart every time Obama is mentioned, and vice versa with a red robot. The agency describes it as “a great way to tap into the current human psyche, and to get people interested, interacting, and engaged.” They see it as a potential ongoing event, changing each week to reflect a topical theme.
A dashboard tracks how many mentions each candidate has received, and currently Romney is far ahead in the match. But that’s a mixed blessing, since the tally includes positive and negative tweets (e.g., “Romney kills puppies before they even have a chance to fight”).
